MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - "I plan on being coach for the long haul--business is as usual."
Memphis Basketball Head Coach Josh Pastner addressed the lingering concerns about his job security at Monday's year-end press conference.
Pastner's Tigers fell one win shy of an automatic NCAA tournament berth, but fell short to UConn in the American Athletic Conference championship.
Despite an impressive run in the AAC tournament, the year has been mostly a disappointment for the Tigers, who also missed out on a chance to play in the NIT Tournament and will not be involved in postseason play.
For now, Pastner is still the head coach of the Tigers.
"It was tough for us with the people we lost," said Pastner. "I get it. Nobody likes losing two years in a row. We have to do some different things, marketing and otherwise, starting with myself."
