MILLINGTON, TN (WMC) -

A Mid-South eighth grader is in the fight for her life, but she had one wish. She wanted to go to the prom.

The brain cancer patient had her dream come true as "Team Cassy" gave her the night of her life.

The Team Cassy movement swept through the Mid-South all in an effort to give 14-year-old Cassy Colunga a prom.

Colunga has endured chemo treatments for two years at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, but now, doctors said she only has two months to live.

Friends and family rallied together to provide Colunga with the prom she has always wanted on Thursday night.

"One thing she wanted to do was go to prom so we are making our own prom," Colunga's friend Bailey Perkins said.

Donations ranging in free make-up and hair, a free limo ride, DJ, and everything they needed to organize and provide a prom at the Peabody Hotel in Downtown Memphis, all paid for, had come together.

"We just wanted her to feel good about herself and know that she was loved," Colunga's friend Hannah Oglesby said.

While the girls prepped and got all pretty and made up, family and friends watched as the girl who has already been through so much had one last chance to get dolled up and just be an eighth grade girl.

Cassy said she can't thank her friends and family enough, but they say they are the ones who feel lucky.

"Everyone just loves her so much, she's perfect," Oglesby  said.
