MPD officer helps calm man with PTSD

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A Memphis Police officer is being commended for keeping a man with PTSD calm.

The man, his three children and his wife were denied a hotel room because of the man's service dog and, expecting her husband to be stressed, the man's wife called police.

That's where Officer Walker came in.

She wrote MPD a note thanking Officer Walker for his service. She said when the officer arrived, he calmly talked to the man and asked about his service dog, Abby.

The officer also told the hotel they were breaking the law and got the hotel's corporate office to overrule the denial.

The man's wife said Officer Walker was kind and spent time talking to their children, ages ten, eight and one.

She wants to thank Officer Walker for a great job.
