Freeze Warning in effect Monday morning

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Temperatures will drop down to the 30s Monday morning and frost will be likely in parts of the Mid-South .

A FREEZE WARNING is in effect 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. for Fayette, Hardeman, McNairy, Tipton, Lauderdale, Haywood, Crockett, Madison and Dyer counties in Tennessee; Mississippi and Poinsett counties in Arkansas; Marshall, Layfette, Benton, Tippah, Alcorn counties in Mississippi. This means that frost is highly likely in these areas, which could destroy vegetation.

There is a FROST ADVISORY through 9 a.m. Monday in Shelby County in Tennessee, Desoto, Tate and Tunica counties in Mississippi and Crittenden, Cross, St. Francsis and Lee counties in Arkansas. This means that frost is possible in these areas.

Please protect your plants and crops by covering them with a tarp. Also, bring pets indoors or make sure that they have a warm place to sleep outside.

Leave your faucet dripping to avoid frozen pipes. Also, give yourself a few extra minutes in the morning to scrape frost off your windshield.
