MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Memphis Grizzlies guard Tony Allen will host "Tony Allen Karaoke Night" at the Esplanade in Cordova on Tuesday, March 29 from 6-8 p.m. to benefit the Juvenile Intervention and Faith-Based Follow-Up (JIFF).
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for kids ages 5-12. Tickets are available at the door or you can buy them ahead of time at the JIFF offices at 254 S. Lauderdale Street.
All proceeds benefit JIFF, Inc.
"Overcoming adversity, that's what I'm about," Allen said last year. "I look at myself coming from the inner city, housing authority, things of that nature, my mother working 3 to 4 jobs, us being poor, us being on welfare and me getting in trouble."
Fans can sign up to sing once they arrive at the Esplanade. The highest-scoring contestant will get to perform with Allen to conclude the event.
Chris Vernon of 92.9 FM ESPN Radio and TV Analyst for Grizzlies LIVE! will serve as a special guest judge and Grizzlies Play-By-Play Announcer Pete Pranica will help to emcee the event alongside representatives from JIFF, Inc.
At last year's event, love was in the air. Grizzlies fan Duane Stewart proposed to Joi Pescatelli and she said yes. To see the video click here.
