Grizzlies fall short in upset bid in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TX (WMC) - The Grizzlies held strong in San Antonio, where the rival Spurs are now 37-0, but ultimately lost a close one.

The Spurs won, 110-104, behind a monster performance from LaMarcus Aldridge. Aldridge scored a game-high 32 points on an extremely efficient 12-16 shooting to go with 12 rebounds.

The Grizzlies were without Zach Randolph, who is dealing with a sprained ankle, but got nice contributions from the frontcourt of JaMychal Green and Chris Andersen.

Green led Memphis with 20 points on a hefty 18 shots and Andersen added 13 with seven rebounds. Lance Stephenson added 17 points off the bench.

The Spurs were without All-Star Kawhi Leonard, but the Grizzlies felt no sympathy with their mounting injuries.

The Grizzlies fell to 41-32 on the season, but remain in the playoffs by 5.5 games with just nine left to play.
