MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A man has been arrested and accused of vandalizing City Hall.
Police said Bernard Gillard, 48, vandalized City Hall on three separate occasions.
On March 20, investigators obtained surveillance video that showed a man riding a bicycle throwing bricks at the front windows of City Hall. Gillard was identified as the person in the video.
On March 21, there was additional damage to the windows on City Hall committed by Gillard according to surveillance video police obtained. Investigators said Gillard was wearing the same clothes he had on after committing the first incident, as well as riding the same bike.
The operations manager for City Hall told police the damages totaled up to $40,000 from both incidents.
On March 25, City Hall's windows were vandalized again. Police said surveillance video showed the suspect wearing similar clothing. He also rode the same bike and threw bricks at the windows of City Hall. Damages this time totaled up to $50,000.
Police arrested Gillard Friday. He is charged with three counts of vandalism $10,000-$60,000.
Gillard is set to face a judge Monday.
