Kokomo, IN (WMC) - Thousands of bikers showed up this weekend to honor a sheriff's deputy in Indiana killed in the line of duty.
Bikers themselves were surprised how many showed up to honor Deputy Carl Koontz. Kootz was serving a warrant at a home in Russiaville a little over a week ago when a man shot and killed him.
The Howard County Sheriff's Department decided to plan a ride to honor him and raise money for his family. They put out the call and some estimate as many as 2,000 people showed up in Kokomo.
