MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A woman is behind bars, accused of hitting her boyfriend and his 2-year-old with a car.
Tuesday, a man told police that he and his girlfriend, 29-year-old Kearia Griffin, argued inside their apartment. The man left with his 2-year-old daughter.
While they walked down the street, the man said he saw Griffin driving behind them. He said she sped up and tried to hit him with her car. He jumped out of the way, grabbing his daughter.
Griffin then backed up and tried to hit him again, but missed. The man then put his daughter down, and Griffin's car bumped her, knocking her to the ground.
The child's leg was scraped and her head was injured. An ambulance treated her on the scene.
The girl's grandmother was shocked.
"I was shaking," grandmother Bridgette Jacobs-Hall said. "I just really couldn't drive. I was nervous."
Griffin was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault. She is in jail on a $20,000 bond.
