MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Zach Randolph made an explosive return to the Grizzlies lineup, but it wasn't enough as Memphis fell to the Denver Nuggets, 109-105, Wednesday.
Z-Bo returned from a sprained ankle that kept him out of Monday's game, and he made the start. Randolph scored a game-high 26 points.
Not to be outdone, Nuggets forward Will Barton was red hot, scoring 25 from the bench.
Otherwise for the Grizz, JaMychal Green picked up a double-double off the bench with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Jordan Farmar started at point guard and scored 14 and Lance Stephenson added 12 from the bench.
The Grizzlies have now lost four in a row for the second time in 10 games.
The schedule won't be getting any easier for the Grizz, either, with the Toronto Raptors coming to the Grindhouse on Friday.
Memphis now sits at 41-34 and could be in danger of falling from their 5th-place spot in the Western Conference if they do not turn things around. Portland trails the Grizz by just two games.
The Grizzlies are four games ahead of 9th-place Dallas with seven games to go. They will play Dallas once more before the season ends.
