3 men indicted for shooting death of Zorro Market clerk

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Three men have been indicted on first-degree murder charges in the robbery and shooting death of a pizza market clerk.

Marico Vales, 25, Antonio K. Jones, 46, and Christian Hall, 23 were indicted Thursday for the shooting of Khaled Khayat,30, according to Shelby County District Attorney Amy Weirich.

The robbery and shooting happened at Zorro Market in the 7900 block of East Shelby Drive near Hacks Cross Road in June 2015.

Officers said witnesses who found Khayat’s body said the robbery and shooting happened around 11 p.m. One of the suspects apparently ordered pizza as a setup for the robbery.

Khayat was shot several times in the head and back.

Investigators said Vales, Jones, and Hall were identified as the suspects through surveillance video and witness testimony.

All three men are being held in Shelby County Jail awaiting a trial.
