OLIVE BRANCH, MS (WMC) - Seven-year-old Bella Parker is fighting a rare bone disease, and this weekend you have a chance to help her and her family.
The Olive Branch girl is battling Osteogensis Imperfecta, also known as Brittle Bone disease. The disorder has prohibited Bella's growth.
Bella's family visits a specialist at Omaha Children's Hospital in Nebraska each year and sometimes those visits last up to 10 days.
Bella is not able to walk on her own, so she requires a special wheelchair. But her family is raising money to get her a new wheelchair.
Saturday, April 9th from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. donations will be collected at the Chick-Fil-A in Olive Branch. With a $5.00 or more donation, you will receive a wristband to enjoy the carnival activities and games. All proceeds will go toward a new wheelchair and medical expenses for Bella.
Olive Branch residents may already know Bella. Every year her neighborhood holds an event called "Bella's Lights," a light show during the Christmas season set to a radio station. During the event, neighbors take up donations for Bella and her friend Lali Scott.
