CHATTANOOGA, TN (WMC) -

A Tennessee bull went for a swim Sunday morning in Chattanooga.

Hamilton County deputies worked with firefighters to rescue the large animal from the backyard swimming pool.

The pool owners said they were repairing a fence around the pool when the bull wandered out of a nearby field and into their backyard. Once inside, the bull walked onto the tarp covering the pool.

The tarp obviously gave way and the bull fell into the water.

Once in the pool, the bull became tangled in the pool cover. Deputies worked tirelessly to safely untangle the bull, but even after getting it free, deputies still had to figure out a way to lure the bull out of the pool.

They tried numerous times to lead the bull to freedom. Eventually they got him into a corner and were able to help him safely climb out and go back to his field.
