BIBB COUNTY, GA (WMC/WXIA) -

A video of a Georgia judge talking to kids about consequences has gone viral.

Bibb County Superior Court Judge Verda Colvin volunteers with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office’s “Consider the Consequences” class, which shows youth where their lives are headed should they choose an early life of crime.

Colvin spoke to some misguided kids in the program who were brought to her court room on March 29. She lectured passionately about the harsh realities of their futures if they didn’t change, and it made quite the impression.

In the video, Colvin explains the choices, going to jail or ending up in a body bag, are simple if they continued on the criminal path.

The sheriff’s deputy can be seen handing tissues to some of the children who were in tears in some parts of the video.

Colvin said she had no idea anyone was filming her, but she’s glad it was recorded.

“I did not expect or anticipate that was going to be recorded,” Colvin said. "For some reason there was a decision to tape it and I have to think it was predestined because I didn't plan it. ... I wanted to speak to their hearts and that's what I did. ... I am shocked that it has gone that far ... I'm continually amazed because it renews what I've always thought - at the end of the day, everybody really cares about everybody else."
