MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A man who went to help a friend stranded in Memphis turned up dead days later.

Investigators found the body of Calvin Holloway near the intersection of Crossfield Road and Holmes Road. They've since determined someone killed Holloway.

"I don't know. I just wish my baby was here," Holloway's mother, Glenda, said. "He's not here and I've got to accept that, so it's going to take lots of prayer."

Holloway was last seen Saturday after he went to help a stranded friend in Memphis. His death is being investigated as a homicide.

Holloway's cause of death has not been determined.

"I want them to find out who did this to my son and why, because my son doesn't hurt people," Glenda said.

In January a body was found on Holloway's own property.

Glenda said several people threatened her son after he reported the body to authorities. She said her son thought the threats were jokes. Now she's not so sure.

She's afraid it all may be connected.

"They killed a real nice, caring person."

She's now left to hope that someone will come forward with clues to help authorities figure out who killed her son.

Memphis Police Department has not released any suspect information. They also have not determined if Holloway's death is connected to the body found on his property earlier in the year.
