Amberiya Davis, 15, was gunned down in Foote Homes, and now another 15-year-old has been arrested and charged with her murder.
Yamar Calvin sits in juvenile custody and police said he is a suspect in the shooting death of Davis.
For the first time, Davis' family is talking about her tragic murder.
"I wake up in the morning looking for her in the bed beside me, and she's not there," her aunt, Betty Leath, said. "She didn't deserve to be shot down like a dog."
They're angry that Davis' big dreams came to an end at the hands of a shooter.
"She said I want to go to school, get my education, and go to cosmetology school, and do hair," her grandmother, Sandra Davis, said.
All of her dreams were crushed by tragedy when police said Calvin played a role in her murder. Pictures of Calvin on his Facebook page show him posing with a gun in one photo, and posing with cash, spelling out Fast Cash - the name of a gang, in others.
A transfer hearing possibly in the future will decide if he will be tried as an adult.
"You took a precious life, you took a life that didn't deserve to die," Sandra Davis said.
Police have not yet released details as to how Calvin was involved in the murder. The family said Davis and Calvin knew each other.
"She was also in a big fight a school at Northside following that Friday and we had numerous amounts of threats on her Facebook page and all," Tiffany Davis said.
Her mother heard Amberiya's voice just seconds before she died.
"She gave someone her phone while she was laying there and she called me and the girl said your daughter laying on the ground there shot and she wants to talk to you, and she just kept saying 'ma ma'," Tiffany said.
It's any mother's nightmare.
Calvin has a juvenile court hearing next month. Meanwhile, police need your help tracking down other people involved in this murder. If you know anything, call police.
