A woman is in jail, accused of running over her ex-boyfriend's pregnant girlfriend with her car.

"When I came out the door, all I see is the car bump, bump on top of them," Antwuan Richardson said.

According to police, a man and his girlfriend went to an address on Madewell Street near Frayser Boulevard to fight with his ex-girlfriend, 23-year-old Myra Seals.

"When she pulled up, they were already parked across the street from her house," Lekita Burnett said. "They were beating at the window, hollering at her, and everything, and next thing you know they got in front of the car."

Burnett lives next door and said Seals was trying to defend herself, and she ran them over all in self-defense.

After they were beating on the window and screaming at her, Seals then ran over the other woman. The victim had several broken bones and was taken to the hospital in critical condition. She was six months pregnant and the fetus died at the hospital.

Witnesses said the reason for the entire confrontation was over a break-up.

"They had just broke up and she had just put him out, and he was upset because he said she was saying a lot of stuff about his name," Burnett said.

Neighbors tried to help when they saw what happened.

"All I saw was a car bumping in the air, so I run across the street," Richardson said. "The woman still stuck under the car. I'm trying to pull her. I'm trying to pull her and she's like, 'y'all I'm dying, I'm dying, I can't get up."

Neighbors said it's a lesson learned.

"Address things better," Richardson said. "Come at people correctly."

Seals was arrested and charged with manslaughter and aggravated assault.
