Tunica County Sheriff Commander Cedric Davis confirmed a man died inside Hollywood Casino on Sunday night.

According to the Tunica County Sheriff's Office, 48-year-old Bob Jerome Murray of Birmingham, Alabama, fell in the water near the buffet area of the casino. It sounds like a freak accident involving a pack of cigarettes and the fountain caused Murray's death.

Sheriff's deputies said the cause of his death is still unclear, but he died after falling in the water inside the casino. According to deputies, it happened at around 8:30 p.m.

"I saw what I assumed was a fireman," Lois Fletcher, casino visitor, said. "He had a wet suit and a pole with a hook on it and I saw him going through the casino."

Deputies have not released much information about what led up to the incident, but witnesses said it may have been over a pack of cigarettes.

One witness said Murray was at the hotel with his fiance' when she threw him a pack of cigarettes. When he went to catch them, he lost his balance, fell over the railing, and landed in the water.

"It's scary," the witness said.

In photos of the water where Murray fell, it appears the area is located near food and the check in area for guests. There are boats hanging from the ceiling and what appears to be rocks in the water. There is also a large railing around the edge.

First Responders, North Tunica Fire Department and Tunica Volunteer Fire Department assisted with locating Murray and recovered him from the water. He was pronounced dead by Tunica County Coroner Glenn Grant at 10:15 p.m.

Murray's body will be sent to the Mississippi Crime Lab for an autopsy. The cause of death has not been determined.

The casino has declined to comment, except to express condolences to Murray's family.
