Surveillance video could be the key to helping police nab two teens who broke into a car and shot at a man who tried to stop them.

The crimes happened near Gertrude and Harvest Park drives in the Pinnacle Point neighborhood.

Corey Garner has lived in the neighborhood for four years. He said violence is an uncommon sight.

Shelby County Sheriff's Office said that all changed Saturday, April 30.

Four teens went into the neighborhood and broke into a car. A neighbor confronted them, and one of the teens pulled out a gun and fired it at the neighbor.

The neighbor ducked behind his own car and was not shot.

Deputies tracked down two of the teens and the gun used in the shooting. A 17-year-old is charged with attempted first-degree murder. A 16-year-old is charged with car burglary and unlawful possession of a handgun.

Deputies hope someone will recognize the teens in the surveillance video. If you recognize any of them, call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
