MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Editorial by Tracey Rogers, Vice President and General Manager of WMC Action News 5:

It's sad it had to come to this, a man with seven DUIs since 2008 will now spend 60 years in prison for a DUI crash that killed two Briarcrest High School students.

Since I cannot adequately share the family's pain, I thought it was appropriate to share a portion of a letter written by the brother of Rachel Lynch that was read in court this week by their father.

Justin Lynch wrote, "I am her only brother, and now I'm an only child. Every day I have to remind myself she is gone.  Every day I have to force myself to go on for her...Please do not let this person out of jail in my lifetime."

Maddie Kruse and Rachel Lynch -- Your lives meant so much to so many and you are saving others even in death. So many have joined the fight against DUI in your memories. Even though you are no longer with us, you are still making this A Better Mid-South.
