MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Less than 24 hours after DOJ announced a major gang bust, Memphis Police Department's Organized Crime Unit announced their own bust.

During a two-month investigation, OCU agents confiscated guns, cash, and drugs.

Interim MPD Director Michael Rallings said OCU agents confiscated 130 guns, 223 pounds of marijuana, 1,118 grams of crack cocaine, and a various amounts of heroine, meth, and pills.

Rallings said officers also made 394 felony arrests, 424 misdemeanor arrests, and issued 808 misdemeanor citations.

"We're going to follow the law. We're going to apprehend criminals," Rallings said. "I just want to send a message to all the criminals out there: Folks who are robbing, shooting, and carrying illegal guns, we're coming after you."

The announcement comes one day after federal agents announced dozens of arrests for Gangster Disciples members.
