An iPad misplaced at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida got a much needed ‘vacation’ of its own.

The iPad enjoyed Memphis International Airport, hit the links at Riverside Country Club, stopped at some tasty Downtown Memphis restaurants, boogied down at Elvis' Heartbreak Hotel, and then hopped back on a plane for Florida.

Shelby Bonnie lost his iPad in the Florida airport after a red-eye flight from San Francisco on his way to the Bahamas. He thought it was lost forever, that is, until he began tracking it using an app he had installed.

The story of the traveling iPad had thousands of people buzzing on social media.

"It's a second skin," Tina Mull said. "Everybody needs their devices!"

While tracking his iPad, Bonnie started posting updates on the iPad's travels to Facebook.

When the iPad finished up it's vacation, Bonnie sent balloons and a card to the address it returned to in Florida.

The iPad thief evidently had a change of heart (or the thief was creeped out that the iPad's owner now knew his/her home address), because days later the iPad showed up in Bonnie's mailbox.
