MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Editorial by Tracey Rogers, Vice President and General Manager of WMC Action News 5:

As we say goodbye and God speed to Reverend Samuel 'Billy' Kyles, I want to take a moment to thank Reverend Kyles for his contributions to our community and to the Civil Rights movement.

Reverend Kyles spent countless years at the forefront of the movement for justice and equality for all people. He was there the day Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was shot and killed.

Kyles was a huge supporter of the National Civil Rights Museum. The museum brought to life the history he lived through.

We owe it to Reverend Kyles and those who have gone before him to offer our support for the Civil Rights Museum which is a treasure in our community.

Reverend Samuel Billy Kyles -- thank you for all you did to make this A Better Mid-South.
