MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

The new parking plan at Overton Park went through its first major test.

Saturday was host to several big events like Latino Memphis Festival, Party for the Century at the Brooks Museum, and Baby Day at the Zoo that led to large crowds.

Traffic throughout the park, except for the zoo, only went in one direction.

There were also shuttles between the park and two nearby churches: Idlewild Presbyterian and First Baptist.

“I was like, we're just going to park back towards Union and then we'll walk because there's too many people, too many things happening today,” Carly Crawford said.

Zoo parking and the Greensward were completely packed with cars.

Overall, visitors said the plan worked as long as people were patient.
