2 people in critical condition after shooting near Happy Mexican

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Memphis police are searching for the suspects responsible for a critical shooting near Happy Mexican Downtown.

The shooting happened just before 2 a.m. Sunday morning in the 300 block of South Second Street.

Police noticed a white Nissan Maxima driving the wrong way on Second near Beale Street.

Investigators said when officers approached the car, both the driver and the victim said they had been shot while driving near Happy Mexican.

Both victims were taken to Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

The only suspect description the victims were able to give police is that the suspects were driving in a black four door car. The car was last seen driving south on Second from MLK.

Police have not arrested anyone. This is an ongoing investigation.
