A teen said he was threatened at gunpoint in an apparent road rage incident on Germantown Parkway.

The victim said he does not know what led up to the incident, but it happened after the other driver pumped his breaks. Before the teen knew it, he had a gun pointed at his face.

With at least six road rage shootings this year, many drivers are nervous, and what happened to graduating high school senior William Hesselbein on Sunday afternoon has him scared.

"I didn't know what to do. I have never been put in that situation before,” Hesselbein said.

Hesselbein said he was driving eastbound on Humphreys Boulevard when the driver of a black pickup truck in front of him started brake checking him. He said even though he slowed down, the man got behind his vehicle and started screaming nasty things out the window.

“He is making all these homophobic slurs at me and making fun of the fact I am in high school,” he said.

He said when the two cars both stopped at a red light on Germantown Parkway, the driver pulled out a semi-automatic pistol.

"He pulls a gun out and says, ‘Yeah, I bet you're trembling now aren't you?’” Hesselbein said.

He said he tried to calm the driver down, but the driver continued to taunt him. Out of fear, he turned instead of continuing straight.

Now, Hesselbein is haunted by what happened, and hopes this does not happen to anyone else.

"What if this guy would have pulled up to a lady with kids in the car?" he wondered.

Police are still looking for the man who pointed the gun, but have limited information.

If you know anything about this crime, you are urged to call Germantown Police Department.
