MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Two Memphis police officers were injured during a fight with a suspect Wednesday morning.

The officers pulled over a driver near the intersection of Millbranch Road and Holmes Road, because neighbors said he was causing a disturbance and playing loud music just before 1 a.m.

The driver, later identified as Dimitris Wells, cursed at officers, saying he didn't do anything wrong.

Once of Wells' neighbors, who asked not to be identified, said his behavior is not a surprise to her. She said he has anger issues.

"I can believe that, because he's gotten in confrontations with police officers over here too," she said. "It took like three or four to actually handle him."

Police said Wells tried to get out of the car on the passenger side, and officers tried to handcuff him. Wells then started to struggle and resist officer's orders.

The officers used pepper spray on Wells to subdue him, at which point Wells bit one officer twice on the arm and punched the other officer in the head several times.

The driver was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on officers.

As for the officers, police said they should recover.
