A Memphis man is behind bars nearly eight months after police say he shot and killed three people inside a home on Lake Grove Street near Chelsea Avenue.

Officers found three people--later identified as Anthony Isom, Michael Glover, and Chasity Springfield--suffering from gunshot wounds just before 2 a.m. on September 26. All three were pronounced dead on the scene.

"It's just been a long time coming and I just thank God that they finally found him," Mary Isom said. "I cry everyday because my son is gone."

Isom's son was murdered and after eight months of tears, prayers, and constant phone calls to homicide investigators, she has finally found some peace.

Investigators developed Demarco Hawkins as a suspect. On May 10, he was taken to the Homicide Office, where he gave a written statement that he planned the murders and took property from the home.

Isom said her son knew Hawkins and deep down has finally found the courage to say the words she thought she would never be able to say:

"I forgive you, but I just wish you wouldn't have taken my son's life," Isom said. "He has three beautiful girls."

Anthony Isom, Michael Glover, and Chasity Springfield all died in the shooting. Police said Hawkins admitted to the murders.

Three families are now forced to make sense of the new information, and of the tragedy that has hit their lives. However, they're happy to hear about the arrest in the case.

"I forgive him, or them, but now they have to pay the price for what they did to, not just my daughter, but the other two gentlemen who got killed too," Darin Springfield said.

Springfield's daughter, Chasity Springfield, was one of the victims.

Hawkins is charged with three counts of first-degree murder.
