Police were able to arrest a woman accused of organizing several Craigslist robberies by tracing her email, phone number, and IP address.

February 23, two men were robbed at gunpoint by three other men on Fernleaf Avenue. The three men took $40 in cash and a revolver. The victims said they went to the area to follow up on a Craigslist advertisement for a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado. The advertisement listed a phone number.

April 18, investigators subpoenaed Craigslist to provide all information associated with that phone number. Craiglist provided an email address and IP address associated with the post for the car.

Almost a month later, on May 11, investigators subpoenaed Comcast for all records pertaining to that IP address. The IP address was associated with an account for Erica Lee.

Then, two suspects arrested and charged in related Craigslist robberies told investigators that Lee organized the plan for several robberies.

Police arrested Lee during a traffic stop on Austin Peay Highway near Old Raleigh-Lagrange Road. She is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery.
