A crash involving a FedEx truck on Highway 78 killed one man.

"I just want to know what happened and why it happened," Romona Ferrante said.

Ferrante's brother, Richard Grant, died in the crash.

Mississippi Highway Patrol has not released any details about how the crash happened.

Ferrante said her brother was on the way to Memphis to sell pallets for work. The pallets could be seen scattered all across Highway 78 on Thursday afternoon.

“He knew this highway like most people would know their home," Ferrante said. "I don’t see how he could have wrecked on this road like that."

Skid marks and car parts remain on the side of Highway 78 where the crash happened. Orange spray paint and posts along the highway seemed to map out the path of these vehicles.

"I'm going to miss him so bad," Ferrante said.

She said her brother was a hard worker and someone who always took care of his siblings. Now she said she just wants to know what caused the crash.

“My brother was my best friend. He meant the world to me," Ferrante said.

FedEx released the following statement about the crash.

“FedEx Ground is aware of the accident in Byhalia, Mississippi, and our heartfelt thoughts and condolences are with all of those involved. Safety is of the utmost importance to FedEx, and we are cooperating fully with the authorities and emergency crews that were quickly dispatched to the scene of the accident.”
