TBI: Ripley man arrested, charged in 22-year-old's murder

RIPLEY, TN (WMC) -

A Ripley, Tennessee, man was arrested and charged with the murder of another man in Lauderdale County, according to District Attorney General Mike Dunavant.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Special Agents joined forces with the Ripley Police Department to investigate the shooting of Arric Lamont Ford, 22, on May 10.

Officers said Ford was found lying on the road beside a vehicle on Highland Extended at Joanne Street. Ford had apparent gunshot wounds to his chest.

TBI Agents investigators said Jabarre Jarrett, 27, had been involved in an altercation with Ford earlier in the night. He later caught up with him at the intersection of Highland Extended at Joanne Street and shot and killed him.

Friday, May 13, agents and officers arrested Jarrett and charged him with one count of first-degree murder, one count of employing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and felon in possession of a firearm.

Jarrett’s bond has not been set at this time.
