MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Two men were arrested after they were busted for trying to sell marijuana to an undercover officer in Whitehaven.

According to police, Saul Caro, 33, and Jesus Quezada, 28, tried to sell 60 pounds of marijuana for $36,000 to an undercover officer in the parking lot of Crystal Palace.

Officers said the two men met with the officer in the parking lot, and after agreeing to a price, Caro left and returned with 60 pounds of marijuana.

More officers arrived to the lot to make an arrest. Police said Caro surrendered, but Quezada ran away. Quezada was tackled by officers and refused to comply. After a brief struggle, Quezada was subdued and arrested.

Investigators said the sting took place 1,000 feet from a school located in the 3300 block of Gill Road, which violated the Drug Free School Zone Act.

Detectives had been surveilling Caro and Quezada for a while, according to the police report.

On May 12, officers observed both men take a suitcase to an apartment in the 3600 block of Pleasant Hollow Drive. Both men told officers the suitcase contained marijuana and two pounds were sold.

Caro was arrested and charged with two counts of manufacture/deliver/sell controlled substance.

Quezada was arrested and charged with evading arrest and two counts of manufacture/deliver/sell controlled substance.
