Fallen MPD officer Sean Bolton honored in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WMC) -

Fallen Memphis police officer Sean Bolton was honored in Washington D.C. for National Police Week.

Bolton’s family, along with Memphis Police Interim Director Mike Rallings and the MPD Honor Guard, traveled to D.C. to honor him.

May 15 is known as Peace Officers Memorial Day and starts National Police Week. This proclamation was signed by President John F. Kennedy in 1962.

Thousands of officers nationwide travel to Washington to participate in events that honor those officers who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Bolton’s name was added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.
