Two men suffered bruises and deep cuts after they said they were pistol whipped and robbed on the job Tuesday morning.
Alfred Queen said he and his partner started working on a house's air conditioning unit for a little over 15 minutes when they were approached by two men. The men beat and robbed the crew for what they had on them, lunch money and cell phones.
"I don't want to be robbed every time I go out. I have to worry about it, and I don't want to work like that," said Queen.
He said one man in a house coat walked up to him asking for a lighter. When Queen reached for a lighter, the man reached for a gun. He then robbed Queen while another man, dressed in all black, robbed Queen's partner. The crew said it happened in about 15 minutes.
Neighbor Tanyetta Garner picked up her sick daughter early from school, and arrived home just minutes after the robbery.
"Just to know that I barely missed somebody being pistol whipped--that's crazy," said Garner, "It could've been me and my daughter."
Queen said he saw the two men walking around for a while before the robbery, and now he's stepping up his awareness on job sites.
