MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A woman is behind bars, accused of setting her boyfriend's house on fire while he was still inside.

Firefighters battled flames at the home on Winslow Road late Tuesday night.

Fire investigators said when they got to the scene, the fire had consumed the house. They believe it started in the carport and spread to the rest of the house.

The man who lives in the house said his live-in girlfriend, Tracy McGee, 37, told him she was going to burn his house down. Soon thereafter, he saw her pouring gas on his truck and setting it on fire.

Neighbors said they've seen and heard McGee and her boyfriend get in arguments before, but nothing as extreme as setting the house on fire.

Sources said McGee has a mental condition and recently went off her medication.

McGee's boyfriend escaped the fire without any injures. He then worked to protect her from serving jail time.

McGee faces arson charges. She was booked at 201 Poplar and issued a $25,000 bond.

Fire investigators said the house sustained about $30,000 worth of damage.
