MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

It's a rite of passage for some--and someone to look up to, or look forward to becoming for others--First Assembly Christian Schools' senior walk.

Parents, staff and pre-kindergarten through sixth grade students lined the hallways to cheer on the graduating seniors who made a promenade through the school hallway, dressed in their caps and gowns.

Many of the graduates started out in their littlest peers' place more than 12 years ago.

The ceremonial walk down the halls on their last day of school was a sort of signal to the elementary teachers who taught them of a job well done and opportunity to see how their former students have grown into responsible young adults.

This year's senior walk was a first for FACS, but many hope it's the start of a lasting tradition.
