MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A man is in jail, accused of trying to get into a young girl's bedroom in a home on Jasmine Cove.

Memphis Police Department said Francisco Rojas leaned a ladder up against a home and tried to climb in through the girl's window.

The girl called police to tell them a man was prying on her window trying to get into her bedroom.

According to family members, Rojas not only used a step ladder to try and get in the girl's bedroom, he was also making threats.

When police arrived, they found Rojas sitting in his truck.

The family said they are still shaken by what happened.

The 14-year-old girl's mother said she feels scared because if he would have got to her daughter, he could have done something to her.

The mother, who does not speak English, used her son to translate and communicate.

"Telling her if she wants to be his girlfriend and my sister said no, he's too big," she said via translation. "Get out of the house or he is going to come right home with his gun and kill us."

The girl was so scared that she called the police.

"My sister got scared and called the police, and he got on his truck and was trying to run away," the girl's brother said.

Rojas is charged with attempted aggravated burglary. He's being held on a $25,000 bond.

Even though he is in jail, the family is afraid of what will happen when he is released.
