Two famous bridges over the Mississippi River will be getting a lot brighter, thanks to the generosity of some anonymous donors.

The Downtown Neighborhood Association posted images on Facebook of an artist's rendering of a lighted Harahan Bridge pedestrian walkway.

According to attorney Charlie Newman, a group of anonymous donors is negotiating with Philips Color Kinetics to light the Harahan Bridge.

It's the same company that lit up the Empire State Building and the Bay Bridge in San Francisco.

Newman said the donors wish to remain anonymous, but will be providing $5 million dollars to not only place LED lights on the Harahan Bridge, but they are also hoping to light up the Hernando DeSoto Bridge with LED lights as well.

The Hernando DeSoto bridge was first lit in 1986.
