MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested a Memphis attorney and accused him of forging signatures and stealing settlement money.

TBI special agents started investigating George Skouteris in May 2012.

Agents said they found evidence Skouteris forged signatures on at least two settlement agreements.

Agents said he signed two checks and tried to deposit them directly into his own account. Those checks were meant for his clients.

Thursday, May 19, 2016, TBI agents secured warrants for Skouteris' arrest. Skouteris promptly turned himself into Shelby County Sheriff's Office.

Skouteris has since been released on bond. The investigation in this case continues, with the possibility that additional victims could be uncovered.
