MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Pull! Pull! Pull! People who spent the weekend at Mud Island River Park will likely hear the synchronized commands and beat of a dragon boat drum on repeat in their heads until another catchy tune finds a way to take over.

On a beautiful Saturday afternoon by the river, the 2016 Duncan Williams, Inc. -- St. Jude Dragon Boat Races raised nearly $65,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

With 25 corporate and community teams taking part, the competition was fierce.

CrossFit Hit & Run won the corporate team trophy, while Circle G Rowers (GPAC) won the non-profit team trophy.

Competition aside, the event was a perfect opportunity to get some rays, eat good food, play yard games, and come together for a great cause.

The real winners of the dragon boat races are the patients at St. Jude. This event helped ensure that those kids and their families will never see a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food.

Rowers, you have one year to get in shape for next year's race! And if you didn't take part this year, you will get your chance. Planning for the 2017 Duncan Williams, Inc. -- St. Jude Dragon Boat Races has already begun.
