More backcourt help could be on the way for the Memphis Tigers.
New Head Coach Tubby Smith got his first signee last week in guard Christian Kessee, a graduate transfer from Coppin State..
Now, Smith and the Tigers are getting a visit from Auburndale, Florida, High School star Keon Clergeot.
Clergeot is very familiar with Smith. He signed with him when Smith was Head Coach at Texas Tech.
When Tubby left for Memphis in April, Clergeot asked for and was recently granted his released from the Red Raiders.
Clergeot is an uber-athletic, 6'1", 170 pound guard who's at home at the point guard spot. He averaged 28 points per game as a high school senior, and is just as adept at getting to the rack and finishing with authority, as he is with nailing 3-pointers.
Clergeot's Memphis visit is scheduled for June 6. Louisville is also recruiting the guard.
