MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

An abandoned puppy got a second chance thanks to a Shelby County Sheriff's Office dispatcher.

SCSO posted the tale (tail?) of the sweet little dog to their Facebook page.

A deputy found the dog walking in the road near the intersection of Bolen Huse and Singleton Parkway. She appeared to be a stray, but the deputy then found her bed and a sealed bag of food in a nearby ditch.

A sergeant for the agency took her in over the weekend to make sure she was clean and fed. Then, one of the dispatchers decided to give her a forever home.

Now, the sheriff's office is looking for the person who abandoned the puppy. If you have any information, call Sgt. Matthew Keaton at 901-568-5645.
