MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A massive fire at the Keystone Landing Apartment complex on the 4200 block of Ridgestone Drive left at least 15 families looking for a new place to call home.

This includes Tameka Boddin's cousin and her son. They were inside their apartment when Boddin said a faulty dryer nearly took their lives.

"They were in the home asleep. So they had to run through the fire to get out," Boddin said.

The fire broke out around 8:15 a.m. Fire crews did not get it under control until 8:40 a.m. According to the Memphis Fire Department two people suffered burns, but are expected to be OK. Nobody else was injured during the fire.

"When I knocked on my mom's door, that's when I saw all the flames, and we were trying to help her get down there to get everyone out," Boddin said.

The Red Cross is helping all families affected by the fire. Memphis Fire Department is still investigating the cause of the fire.
