Editorial by Tracey Rogers, Vice President and General Manager of WMC Action News 5:

She was a girl with many titles: 18-year-old, soon to be high school graduate, mom to a 1-year-old son, basketball player, daughter, honor roll student.

She goes out on the town and ends up in a body bag.

Myneishia Johnson is now one of more than 90 people who have been murdered in Memphis this year.

Don't kid yourself, this is a crisis. The murder rate is out of control and impacts all of us.

The one big difference about this murder is the zip code where it happened. It's considered one of the safest in the city.

I ask again -- are you outraged? If so, what can be done?

Email me at abettermidsouth@wmctv.com or post a message to my Facebook page. I'm collecting your answers and posting them on my Facebook page.

We must do something; we must keep this conversation going. We must do all we can to stop the violence in order to make this A Better Mid-South.
