MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

The former lead singer of Skid Row said he got ripped off while visiting Memphis.

Sebastian Bach was the lead singer of Skid Row from 1987-1996. He sang the band's biggest hits, "18 and Life," "I Remember You," and "Wasted Time."

His celebrity status did not keep him from becoming a crime statistic in Memphis.

"It's a shame. It's an absolute shame that something happened like that to anyone whether they be someone that's recognized famous or not," a Memphian said when told about the story.

Bach was in Memphis to perform at Hi-Tone on May 10, but while in town, someone stole his wife's watch.

Suzanne's watch is worth thousands of dollars. She told police someone stole it from a drawer at the Holiday Inn Express where she and Bach were staying.

Suzanne said she hired a nanny to watch her 3-year-old child off the website Care.com. She believes that nanny took the watch.

Memphis Police Department does not have anyone in custody for the theft.

Care.com was unable to return our request for comment.
