MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A K9 officer captured a suspected burglar early Wednesday morning.

Officers rushed to a Cricket store on Watkins Street in Frayser just after 1 a.m. It's unclear what they took, but Memphis police launched a massive search after the burglary.

Search dogs, a police helicopter, and dozens of officers spread out across the area to find the burglar.

About 45 minutes later, a K9 officer sniffed out the suspected burglar near the intersection of Hallbrook Street and Frayser Boulevard. He was arrested, but had to go to the hospital to be treated for dog bites.

A police major said an officer was injured, but was treated on the scene.

WMC Action News 5 is working to learn the identity of the suspected burglar and what charges he'll face.
