Tony Allen named to All-Defense Second Team

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Grizzlies guard Tony Allen was named to the 2015-16 NBA All-Defensive Second Team.

This is Allen’s fifth career All-Defense selection, all with the Grizzlies, after he earned First Team honors in 2014-15, 2012-13, and 2011-12 and Second Team in 2010-11.

Tony Allen averaged 1.72 steals in just over 25 minutes per game for Memphis, tying him for most steals per 48 minutes (3.3).

The First Team All-Defense includes Kawhi Leonard, Draymond Green, DeAndre Jordan, Avery Bradley, and Chris Paul.

Allen is joined by Paul Millsap, Paul George, Hassan Whiteside, and Jimmy Butler on the second team.

Allen earned 44 first team votes, the most of any player not named to the First Team.
