Mid-South StormTALK and a hot Memorial Day forecast

The overall weather pattern hasn’t changed much since our round of heavy rain and storms on Wednesday, so more storms are possible by late afternoon through the evening. Like Wednesday afternoon, a few could be severe with small hail and intense lightning. Otherwise, expect a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the mid to upper 80s.

Check out the latest run this more from our Hi Res Forecast model. It shows just isolated showers or storms around 3 p.m. That means some will be dry and muggy with a mix of sun and clouds and some will see a dose of heavy rain or lightning.

The coverage of storms increase near sunset and may linger through late evening. This is what the radar may look around 8:30 p.m.

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND: The good news…rain chances go down as we head through the weekend. You may have to dodge a shower or storm Saturday, but Sunday and Monday look like good pool days with only a 20% chance of a shower or storms and highs in the upper 80s to near 90. Summer doesn’t officially start until June 20, but meteorologically (in the world of weather), it starts the first day of June. It will certainly feel like it as we head into Memorial Day!
