MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A man is in jail, accused of killing a man and leaving his body in the street in Cooper-Young.

Terrance Kellum, 20, was found lying face down near South McLean Boulevard, near Evelyn Avenue on May 22. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The medical examiner ruled Kellum’s death as a homicide.

Police said Steve Brown, 20, was identified as the person who had taken Kellum’s iPhone during the incident, and then sold the phone.

Investigators said Brown was one of the suspects responsible for shooting and killing Kellum.

Witnesses told police that Brown said he killed Kellum because Kellum stole money from the Vice Lords gang, according to the police report.
