A woman is in critical condition after she was stabbed multiple times for talking to the suspect’s boyfriend.

The woman told police it happened early Sunday morning at a gas station on Poplar Avenue and North Manassas Street.

The 34-year-old victim told police she was pumping gas when her friend drove onto the parking lot with his girlfriend. The victim and her friend talked to one another, which the suspect took offense to.

However, police found no crime scene and later determined the stabbing actually happened at a home in the 900 block of Galloway Avenue. Surveillance cameras at the gas station showed no sign of any stabbing.

Investigators said a fight broke out between the victim and Tamecka Moorehead. The suspect stabbed the victim multiple times with a pair of scissors.

Moorehead’s boyfriend said there is more to the story.

"Its real nerve wracking,” Clarence Martin said. “It didn’t have to go that far, but she had no business being over here."

The victim was taken to Methodist University Hospital in critical condition.

Moorehead was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

Martin said he was confused and angry when his girlfriend was arrested Sunday afternoon.

"I wasn’t flirting with her. We dated a while back,” he said of the victim. “I didn’t see her at no gas station. She came to where I lay my head at night and started the altercation."

Martin said he and Moorehead woke up around 2:30 to the victim banging on his door. He said when he went outside and asked her to leave, she refused.

"I asked her why she was here,” he said. “No one asked her to come. She tried to hit me in my face and I grabbed her arm, and told her to get off the porch and get off my property."

Martin said he then went inside and thought the woman left. Later, he found the two women fighting.

Police said the victim had wounds to her left temple and stab wounds to her chest. Moorehead admitted to the stabbing.

"I hate what happened, but she came over as a person trying to attack, and they defended themselves," Martin said.
